Did you know that Johann Sebastian Bach recognized early on in his career the need for God’s help? Bach was a German composer and musician and composed many famous pieces. I love one of his quotes: “It’s easy to play ANY musical instrument: all you have to do is touch the right key at the right time and the instrument will play itself.”
But as I mentioned God played an important part in his life. Here is another of his quotes: “The aim & final end of all music should be none other than the glory of GOD and the refreshment of the soul.”
Oh & here is one last little tidbit about Bach. Apparently he often wrote “J.J.” at the top of a new sheet of paper as he began a composition. In German, it meant, “Jesus, help me.” If Bach himself needed divine assistance, how much more do we?
So if you are facing some difficult decisions in your life right now, take the advice Jesus’ brother James gave to his readers many years ago: “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” Great place to start – J.J., Jesus, help me!
