      Easter Letter

April 11, 2020 by Rob Lewis
He is Not Here, He Has Risen! Has there ever been better news for humanity than this? I think not!
Death could not hold Him in the grave as he arose victorious on the third day! Jesus was, is, and will be alive for all of eternity and for that we are forever grateful because as He lives, we too have everlasting life if we accept Him as Savior. 1 Cor. 15:20 “But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.”
This is a time of year when things are coming to life all around us. The birds are singing, grass is growing, and flowers are blooming, and the winter months have given us a greater appreciation for the advent of Spring. What a deep appreciation we can have for the life of Christ when we pause and reflect on the darkness of His death. From the moment Jesus was born we know that the Cross was always in the horizon and with each passing year not only did the Cross get nearer, but the ultimate victory as well … the Resurrection!
The Bible makes it clear as well that Jesus looked far beyond the CrossHebrews 12:2b “… who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” I know that He now sits at the right hand of the throne of God and is presently making intercession for each one of us as we go through our “dark moments” of life.
These past weeks may seem dark now. It may seem a like a valley of shadows, it may seem like Friday but we Christians know Sunday is coming!
If you are going through difficulty at this time, rest assured that “weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning”. Psalm 30:5
As we here at Heart Lake Baptist Church celebrate the Resurrection, I encourage you to give thought to the fact that Jesus is “on your side” and
      the Resurrection proves it!
Join us online Good Friday and Easter Sunday at 10 am.
God bless you this Resurrection Day,
      Rev. Wayne Melnechuk
