      Christmas Eve Candlelight Service

      December 19, 2019

Join us for our family friendly Christmas Eve Candlelight Service.  Tuesday, December 24th at 6:30 pm.
Who Among us will celebrate Christmas Correctly?

From the Christmas movies and TV specials we watch to the traditions we celebrate we are always asking or being asked "What is the true meaning of Christmas?" I think the question that we are really asking is am I celebrating Christmas correctly?
The answer is found at the manger itself. It is found in the gift of Jesus. His willingness to humble Himself. The glory of God revealed in His humility. Pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer answers the question: "Who among us will celebrate Christmas correctly? Whoever finally lays down all power, all honour, all reputation, all vanity, all arrogance, all individualism beside the manger; whoever remains lowly and lets God alone be high; whoever looks at the child in the manger and sees the glory of God precisely in his lowliness."

One of my new favorite Christmas songs that comes from a Canadian band Downhere called "How Many Kings?" asks the right question:

How many kings, stepped down from their thrones?
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least for me?
How many Gods have poured out their hearts To romance a world that has torn all apart?
How many fathers gave up their son for me?
Only one did that for me!

In the business of the season take 10 minutes to reflect of the glory of God revealed in humility Christ. Listen to a new Christmas song (link below) and Read Luke 1:46-55 and ask yourself; Who among us will celebrate Christmas correctly?
      Merry Christmas and God bless,
      Pastor Wayne
