First Time F.A.Q
First, THANK YOU for your interest in Heart Lake Baptist Church. We want to give you a quick look at what you can expect as you come to meet us.
Our Sunday Worship Service is at 10am with Nursery/Toddler care and Kids Zone for children up to Grade 5. You will be welcomed by our Greeters and they will be glad to offer you any assistance you need.
A weekly bulletin is available as you enter into the Sanctuary which highlights many opportunities here at Heart Lake and you are most welcome to join in.
Look for the next Newcomer's Luncheon and let us introduce ourselves to you.
We know that your first time at a church, any church, brings up some questions:
Here is a quick look at what you can expect and we look forward to meeting you soon.
that seeks to help us grow in understanding and applying the Bible to our lives. After the service you are welcomed to join in a coffee time in the gym so we have an opportunity to meet you.
We are located at 10245 Kennedy Rd. N., approximately 1.5 half blocks north of Bovaird Drive on the east side of Kennedy Road. Try to arrive about 10 minutes before the service time to allow
for parking and locating childrens programs.
Dress comfortably. While some attendees do wear their "Sunday best," most folks wear casual clothes on Sunday morning. Don't worry about what you wear-just come expecting a great experience! If you prefer your own Bible, bring it with you to church. Our Pastor will refer to scripture during his teaching time in the service.
There are Bibles in the sanctuary chairs that are for your use and to take home with you if you don't own a Bible.
Our Christian Education Department has worked hard to provide strength in both of these areas. Your child’s learning time will be one of creative engagement with the teachings of the Scripture
and how they can be applied to your child’s life now. Kids Zone Worship starts Sunday morning at 10am in the Fireside Room.
We would be happy to help you locate this room when you sign in your child in the foyer.
(The first week of the month all children begin the worship time with parents in the Sanctuary before they are dismissed to their classroom)
We take child safety and security seriously. Every teacher or assistant that volunteers with children and youth must successfully go through a process that is outlined in our Protection Policy.
This includes an interview/application, yearly workshop and a regular police check.
A foyer monitor provides additional security to ensure the safety of every attendee. Each child (Gr. 5 and under) must be registered before entering a children's program and be signed in/out.
If your baby/toddler is in the Nursery & Toddlers Room, they will be received and cared for with loving, gentle hands and we will give you a paging device so that you can be contacted at any time
if you are needed.
