What A Great God We Serve

      September 13, 2017 Pastor Terry
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take; but by the moments that take our breath away."

We had the privilege of vacationing with our daughter and family from August 29th - Sept. 5th.  We saw many wonderful sights but seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time did take our breath away.

      Grand Canyon

But as we stood on that rim and I snapped this picture my thought was not so much "What a grand canyon but instead what a great God we serve".  What a privilege to travel and see many of the sights of God's creation but even better is the privilege knowing that I am a child of the King.  Being a Christ-follower is awesome.  With all the disasters that are occurring in our world, there is such peace knowing that "God holds tomorrow in His hands."

In I John, the writer gives us great assurance.  In Chapter 4, verse 15, John writes "If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God."  Then in 5:13 John states "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may KNOW that you have eternal life."

See, that's better than the Grand Canyon.  When one accepts Jesus as Lord of their lives - that's a moment that will take one's breath away.

As we move into the fall activities at Heart Lake, I challenge you to consider where you can get involved so that your walk with Jesus will be strengthened and grow sweeter. Welcome back and may you experience some breath-taking moments with God and His people this fall.
      Blessings

      Dr. "T"
