Nov23ThuNovember 23, 2017 Pastor TerryLast Sunday Night we held our annual meeting and I challenged those in attendance with the fact that there is a new designation of generations and they are called GenZ, those born between 1998-2016, 2.4 billion strong. (view video below) The previous generation, the Millennials (born between 1982-1997) grew up in the church but left in droves. However GenZ have simply never been in our churches to begin with. The question found in the Report from the 2016 Canadian Baptist Youth and Family Forum is "What must we do to reach and engage young people with the person and message of Jesus?"In this report they list the obstacles and opportunities which we as Canadian Baptists need to recognize and embrace. One of the opportunities they list is LET THEM LEAD. This coming Sunday (Nov. 26th) our millennials and GenZ's will be leading our worship service. I am excited about this and I pray we will embrace our young people and encourage them. Pray for all those who will lead, invite a friend and let's fill the sanctuary as we celebrate what God is doing in and through our young people.Oh, one other things, this report pointed out was that "this generation longs for caring adults in their lives. They want the older generations to speak into their lives, walk alongside them, give them opportunities and be connected in authentic relationships." So, we have a part to play. I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to this Sunday morning. I'm looking forward to bringing on an associate who will be helping to lead this next generation. Statistics show that 85% of Christians became a follower of Jesus between the ages of 4 and 14. Let's do our part NOW to reach our children and youth for Jesus Christ. Hope to see you Sunday!BlessingsDr. "T"Check this video out
